What Is Neo-Shamanism?

A Note Before We Begin

As a former physics teacher and cryogenic engineer, I'm always looking to the proof. To the science. Through my search I've found plenty of it, but here's what I've learned: proof alone doesn't change anything. Nothing shifts just because you know there are laws behind it.

I often hear, "I don't believe in energy work." That's fine. The first time someone showed me how running my hands over a person could release years of stored tension, or that shaking a rattle at someone could actually move something in their system, I said, "This is ridiculous." But I trusted the process. Later I found the science behind all of it, and you know what? It didn't matter. The results were already there.

This page isn't here to convince skeptics. That this page. It's here to put things in Western terms for the Western mind. After all, that's the whole point of the "neo" in Neo-Shamanism.

That said, some things are simply established at this point. People tell me they don't believe in chakras. They've been measured and documented across multiple studies. We can measure the energy flow; we just can't see it with the naked eye. If you're in the camp of "there's no such thing as chakras, meridians, or nadis," you might as well have your Salem witch trial sign on display.

Consider this: an NIH study found that roughly 75% of all doctor visits are stress-related. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon (yes, that's a joke) to understand that stress damages your physical system. There's a "mythical, invisible thing" killing people every day. We just call it stress instead of blocked energy.

So What Is Neo-Shamanism?

Shamanism is the oldest healing tradition on earth. Every culture has a version of it: the Shipibo in Peru, the Bwiti in Gabon, the healers of Mongolia and North America. These are deep, lineage-based traditions rooted in specific cultural worldviews passed down through generations.

Neo-Shamanism is a contemporary evolution of those practices, specifically adapted for the Western mind. Traditional shamanic methods are powerful, but they don't always account for the unique programming, conditioning, and psychological complexity that comes with growing up in a modern Western culture. A shaman would struggle to help someone who's obsessed with the number of Instagram followers they have. A Neo-Shaman understands that gap and bridges it.

The core philosophy is grounded in something quantum physics already tells us: everything is energy. Reality is shaped by consciousness (think double slit experiment,) vibration, and frequency. The central principle is that life happens through you, not to you. You are an active co-creator of your reality through your internal state of being. This isn't abstract spirituality. It's practical application rooted in natural law.

There is one major tenant that may venture onto the mystical side and that's ok in my book. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience, not the other way around. This allows us to treat your energy field first and the physical manifestations of symptoms are also treated as a result. Western medicine says "fix the symptom," Neo-shamanism says "what's the cause."

What Does a Neo-Shaman Actually Do?

A Neo-Shaman is not a guru, a fixer, or a therapist. The primary role is to serve as a skilled guide: someone who helps you access your own inner wisdom and direct experience rather than handing you a prescription.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

Energetic Healing and Optimization. Your body runs on bio-circuitry: chakras, meridians, and nadis that are responsible for metabolizing and distributing energy throughout your entire system. When this network gets blocked by old experiences, stored emotions, or inherited patterns, it shows up as physical symptoms, emotional imbalances, or both. A Neo-Shaman identifies and clears those blockages, restructures and repairs the energy centers, and restores optimal flow.

Wound Healing and Shadow Integration. Beneath most recurring patterns sits a core wound: a foundational injury to the psyche and energy field that creates distorted perceptions, limiting beliefs, and energetic constrictions. A Neo-Shaman guides you into that wound with precision and care, facilitating the release of what's been locked in place, and integrating the parts of yourself that had to be hidden or suppressed to survive.

Nervous System Recalibration. Many people are living in a body that's still responding to something that ended years ago. The nervous system got stuck in survival mode and never came back down. This isn't a mental health issue; it's an energetic and physiological pattern that can be addressed directly through the body's own intelligence.

Cultivating Energetic Intelligence. Beyond fixing what's broken, a Neo-Shaman helps you develop your own capacity to sense, read, and work with energy. This includes strengthening your personal energy field, aligning your Hara (the intentional power center below the navel), and deepening your grounding so you can navigate life from a place of coherence rather than reactivity.

The Missing Piece Most Approaches Overlook

There's a layer between talk therapy and the physical body that most healing modalities skip entirely. It's called energetic psychology.

Talk therapy works with the mind: your thoughts, your narratives, your cognitive patterns. Traditional medicine works with the physical body: your symptoms, your chemistry, your organs. But underneath both of those sits the energetic architecture of your system: the invisible structure that organizes how you think, feel, relate, and express.

This is where your core defenses live. It's where inherited family patterns are encoded. It's where the wound that created your anxiety, your people-pleasing, your chronic tension, or your inability to move forward actually resides.

When you address this layer, the layers above it reorganize naturally. Your thoughts shift because the energetic template that was generating them has changed. Your body releases because the blockage that was holding the tension has been removed. You don't have to force new behaviors. You become someone for whom those old behaviors no longer make sense.

This is what Neo-Shamanic Integration works with. Not just the mind. Not just the body. The whole system, addressed at the level where the pattern actually lives.

What This Looks Like in a Session

Every session follows a clear structure. We begin with a check-in to understand where you are today. Then I run a full energetic diagnostic of your chakra system, establishing a measurable baseline of how your energy is flowing, where it's blocked, and where your system is compensating.

From there, the work is guided by what your system reveals. That might include hands-on energy repair, nervous system recalibration, somatic release, or shadow facilitation. Every session closes with a second diagnostic so you can see exactly what shifted, followed by a personalized integration prescription to anchor the work between sessions.

This isn't guesswork. Every session produces measurable change.

Is This for You?

If you've done the therapy, read the books, tried the retreats, and still feel like something deeper is running the show, this work was built for where you are right now. You just need to be willing to show up honestly and ready to move forward.

A 20-minute conversation about what's happening in your body and your life, and whether this work is the right fit. No preparation needed. Come as you are. This is not a sales call.
